(Worthy News) – In an unprecedented move, U.S. President Donald J. Trump declared victory in the presidential vote while counting was still ongoing and said he would go to the Supreme Court to battle alleged election fraud.

The announcement added to tensions with his Democratic rival Joe Biden who earlier in the evening said he was optimistic about a victory.

On the streets, there was concern about riots with the National Guard being deployed in several states.

President Trump entered the East Room of the White House, where he told supporters he was frustrated by how the night had developed.

“We were winning everything, and all of a sudden, it was just called off,” he claimed.

He added that he believed he had won the election and accused Democrats of trying to “disenfranchise” his voters.

Pulling a piece of paper out of his pocket, the president accused Democrats of trying to steal the election.

“They knew they couldn’t win. This is a fraud on the American public. This is an embarrassment to our country,” Trump stressed, promising to petition the Supreme Court.

He spoke after Biden expressed optimism he would win, though President Trump’s victory in Texas, Florida, Ohio narrowed his chances to receive the 270 necessary electoral votes.

However, Biden won in Arizona, scoring a major upset in a state that had picked the Republican presidential candidate in five consecutive elections. Arizona has 11 electoral votes.
