New YouTube Community Guidelines Censor Prayer and Faith Concerning COVID-19

(Worthy News) – According to Western Journal, YouTube has issued new “community guidelines” that will prevent YouTubers from posting videos suggesting that anyone should pray about COVID rather than seeking medical attention.

On the surface this may seem like a good idea, however, the ramifications of this censorship go far beyond anything reasonable, as the guidelines are vague, leaving censorship a wide berth. According to Google’s COVID-19 medical misinformation policy for YouTube, “The safety of our creators, viewers, and partners is our highest priority. We look to each of you to help us protect this unique and vibrant community. It’s important you understand our Community Guidelines and the role they play in our shared responsibility to keep YouTube safe…”

The document further states, “YouTube doesn’t allow content about COVID-19 that poses a serious risk of egregious harm…” YouTube includes in this category, “content that spreads medical misinformation that contradicts local health authorities’ or World Health Organizations’ (WHO) medical information about COVID-19” on treatment, prevention, diagnosis, transmission, social distancing, and self-isolation guidelines, and the existence of COVID-19.

In essence, anyone who disagrees with the WHO, and other pervading powers, all of whom have changed policies and guidelines frequently, as more information has come forth about this novel virus, can be censored on the basis that they are doing harm. One example of this is when Big Tech censored anyone who initially suggested that the origin of the virus was from a lab rather than a bat.

It’s already abundantly clear that free speech is no longer a given in the US, and that anyone who doesn’t tow the party line, such as many Christians and conservatives, are getting hit particularly hard. According to YouTube, anyone who states that we should trust in God more than we trust in the WHO and the medical or scientific community, should not be allowed to speak on the world’s largest communications platform.
