(Worthy News) – A pastor and evangelist associated with America’s National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC) has reported that thousands of people responded to the Gospel during two major outreach events in Texas on the border with Mexico last month, CBN News reports.

Pastor Tony Suarez who leads Revival on the Border held nightly evangelistic tent meetings in El Paso, Texas, from March 21-23, and McAllen, Texas, from March 27-29.

In a statement to CBN news, Suarez explained that street evangelists had gone out before the meetings calling people to come and hear the Gospel. “Our street evangelism team set out to reach everyone, everywhere!” Suarez said. “From bars to city parks to those we could get to come to the tent — when it was all set and done, God gave us a harvest of over 3,000 souls that had an experience with God, in some form or fashion.”

“The prayer army was tasked with speaking the name of Jesus over every single mile of the border between Texas and Mexico, as well as praying in the Spirit, and reaching people along the way,” Suarez continued. “These men have handed out Bibles to migrants, border patrol agents [and] they have preached in parks and ministered to people in restaurants.”

In addition to leading his Revival on the Border ministry, Suarez is Chief Operating Officer for the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference. With thousands of member churches, the NHCLC works to “empower pastors with messaging and mobilization tools and resources for the purpose of leading a righteousness and justice movement.”
