(Worthy News) – U.S. President Donald J. Trump says Jesus Christ is more famous than him and urges people to turn to Christ, especially during the coronavirus pandemic. ”Masks, no masks, everything, you can do all you want, but you know, you still need help from the Boss,” Trump said, looking up and pointing to the sky.

He reacted to news that two aides of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19, which Trump prefers to calls the ”China Virus.”

Video footage of last week’s comments, obtained by Worthy News, goes viral on social media. Trump, who recently recovered of COVID-19 and called the Bible his favorite book, told a campaign rally in Greenville, North Carolina, that he wanted to humble himself before Christ.

”Someone said to me the other day, ‘you’re the most famous person in the world by far.’ I said, ‘no, I’m not’… they said, ‘who’s more famous?’ I said, ‘Jesus Christ,'” Trump recalled prompting cheers from his crowd of supporters.

The president added, “I’m not taking any chances … I’m not having any arguments – Jesus Christ!” And let me look up, and I’ll say it’s not even close,” Trump said, looking again to the sky.

SAVING CHRISTIANITY

Trump’s remarks come one week after his son Eric Trump claimed the president “literally saved Christianity” in the United States.

“The Democratic Party, the far left, has become the party of the ‘atheists.’ And they want to attack Christianity, they want to close churches, they’re totally fine keeping liquor stores open,” the younger Trump told a North Dakota radio show.

He was referring to some state governors’ coronavirus restrictions.

Biden, a practicing Catholic, has sought to gain support from evangelical Christian voters, who overwhelmingly backed Trump in 2016.

More than 1,600 faith leaders endorsed Biden this month, reportedly the largest group in modern history to back a Democratic presidential candidate.

GRAHAM SUPPORT

However, evangelist Frankin Graham, son of late famed preacher Billy Graham, is among American evangelical leaders supporting Trump.

Franklin Graham recently led a prayer march in Washington, where thousands prayed for the 74-year-old president ahead of upcoming elections. ”Now people say ‘Well Frank, but how can you defend him, when he’s lived such a sordid life,’” he said in an earlier interview.

Graham was indirectly referring to criticism among conservatives about the three-times-married president’s past playboy lifestyle and other controversies.

“I never said he was the best example of the Christian faith. Trump has admitted his faults and has apologized to his wife and his daughter for things he has done and said. And he has to stand before God for those things.”

But Graham stressed in separate remarks that ”God is the hope for our country, and our leaders, including President Donald J. Trump, need our prayers. The bottom line? Prayer can make America great!”
